The ACLU - The Modern Day Communist Party

How is it that the ACLU can sue anybody they wish to put forward their agenda, while suppressing the very liberties they are supposed to be fighting for? Why do we allow this oppressive organization to flourish? The 1st amendment to the United States Constitution states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." This very important passage says that the Congress can't write a law establishing a national religion. Nor can it pass a law preventing the "free" exercise of any religion. Will anyone dispute that is what this is saying? Hearing none, I will continue. There is nothing in this passage that gives the Congress any right to prevent you from publicly exercising your religion. Nor is there anything in here giving any government agency a right to prevent public celebrations of religious holidays. Will anyone dispute this? Hearing none, I will continue. This country was founded on the principle that the government should be in the background of the daily lives of the American public, and less intrusive than the government from which we had escaped. In the words of the Constitution, "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." To insure my domestic tranquility, my government can stop allowing organizations like the ACLU from establishing laws which the Congress itself is prevented from writing and passing. This is the most important document in the history of the world, to Americans. This document does not give the right to anybody or any organization to suppress the free exercise of anyone's religion. I challenge anybody who can find within this document, anything that prevents me from putting a nativity scene in the public park. Or any provision that gives Congress the right to pass any law to prevent me from doing the same. You can search until you die, but there is no such provision establishing either. But the ACLU will have you believe that putting a religious icon in the public park violates the separation of church and state. I also challenge anyone to find within this document where it is established that this is so. I want everybody who reads anything that I write, to research this. I want it done. You have a mission to do this. If you are an American citizen, you have an obligation to know what is contained in this document. Not only does this document contain items which are considered my rights, but it also gives me protection from having these rights suppressed by others. The ACLU has this country's state and local governments so afraid of being dragged into court for what the ACLU calls violations of church and state. And so, under the threat of being dragged into costly court proceedings, the local and state governments err on the side of caution. Caution to their treasuries. I am all for allowing public displays of religious symbols during the celebrations of holidays. I for one would like some exposure to different religious celebrations. Why, because steadily for years mine have been suppressed. It has gotten so bad that Christmas has been removed from Christmas. How can a 5 foot tree and some tinsel start a chain reaction that will cause the collapse of the Union? For that matter, public display of the Star of David? We were founded upon the idea of religious tolerance. This means that if a religious group has as a tradition, to march down the main street of the town, wearing undergarments on their heads (see the symbolism) chanting in a language totally foreign to the multitudes of the people in the community, I have no right to say they can't. And neither should the local and state governments. Someone needs to grow a backbone in this country and put these socialist lawyers in their places. These Communists are the same people who congregated in Communes, grew their hair out, consumed massive amounts of drugs and bought into the idea of "The Great Society". Some of these idiots are of the very ideology that spawned Ward Churchill. This radical is so far off the map that he makes Michael Moore look like a Conservative. And the ACLU is right there with him.
My feathers are in a ruffle over the University of North Carolina's declaration that the IAO Fraternity is practicing discrimination for their insistence that those applying for membership be of a devout Christian faith. They, as a fraternal organization should have the right to define their ideology. For the love of Pete, these guys are pledging brotherhood to each other. Trust, brotherhood, and a common goal are the basis of fraternal organizations. Why would those who are of a different faith, want to join a Fraternity that is religiously based? The idea that the University would dictate to them to either include those from outside their faith, and those of alternate lifestyles which are in contrast with the teaching of their faith in my opinion is denying their constitutional right to free exercise of their religion. Apparently, so does the Alliance Defense Fund. They are representing the IAO Fraternity in their application for relief though the court system. Apparently a judge also thought that this was worth presenting in court, because an injunction was issued permitting IAO to continue operating as a Fraternity until the case is heard. Where is the ACLU on this one? Devout religious groups are seen as being right wing and they can't be seen coming to the defense of a non-liberal section of the people. Oh no, they have bigger fish to fry. Like trying to grant US Constitutional protections to foreign terrorists being held in a foreign country. Misguided loyalties.
